Graveyard Ridge | S Haywood County between Yellowstone Prong and Dark Prong. A flat area there has numerous mounds resembling graves. They have been dug into but no human remains found. A hurricane or windstorm likely uprooted trees and, through the years, the old root stumps and trees rotted out, leaving only the dirt mounds. There is a slight depression beside each mound, which is the hole from which the stumps came. |
