North River | rises in Dismal Swamp, E Camden County and flows S approx. 18 mi. into Albemarle Sound. For a part of its course, it forms the boundary between Camden and Currituck Counties. North Second Creek | is formed in NW Rowan County by the junction of Back and Withrow Creeks and flows NE into Yadkin River. Appears as Second Creek on the Collet map, 1770. Named because it was the second creek reached by settlers moving W from Salisbury, Grants Creek being the first. See also Withrow Creek. |
